As you can see from the evidence below Lloyd began his career as UK chart sensation ‘Craig David’. When the UK garage ride had reached its climax ‘Craig’ went into hiding deciding the only way forward was to relaunch himself in the states.
Despite their love for rubbish R’n'B and boy bands the American public had never fully taken to him. Then one day it hit him. A ‘gangsta’ boyband. Now we’re talking definately more gangsta than N-SYNC but not quite, yet, at the level of Bros. In order to disassociate himself totally from the garage scene and ‘the artful dodger’ (along with certain recording contracts) a change of identity was required.
